Last year the magic community lost one of its brightest when Jay Coffman succumbed to cancer after battling for nearly a decade. This November Richmond Comix in conjunction with the VAComicon are going to celebrate our friend by holding a Magic tournament to benefit the Massey Cancer Research Center at MCV, the people responsible for giving us extra years with Jay.
The tournament will be held at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Richmond VA on Sunday November 22nd. Registration will begin at 10:00am and we will start the tournament at 11:00am. This will be a Type 2 standard tournament and the price to play will be $25.
The top 4 will all get a deck built and played by Jay Coffman. One of them is unfinished but it has 8 fetchlands so that kind of balances out.

Also appearing at the event and doing a little gunslinging will be former United States Magic Champion Kyle Rose! He’s volunteered his time to help raise a little extra money for the bone marrow transplant center.

Every penny taken in by these auctions will be donated to the Massey Cancer Reserch Center at MCV on behalf of Jay Coffman. Most of these items have been donated by the Coffman family for this special charity event. Items donated by others will be noted as such.
